My arrival in Tanga co-incided with the migration path of some of the most beatiful birds I’ve ever seen. They were Carmine Bee-eaters. They look like a sort of small child’s version of what a tropical bird looks like and as Steve drove me to the Yacht Club there they were, sitting on a telephone wire. Of course I didn’t have my camera ready but have managed to track down a suitable graphic.
Oh and well done Althea and chums. They raised over £300 and the weather wasn’t too bad.
