As it is Easter Sunday I thought I write a bit about the different faiths of the people living and working near Emau Hill. There is a Catholic and Anglican church and a local mosque. I know all those links are to UK organisations but I didn’t know where to start for Tanzanian ones. People just get along with each other and there is little tensions between the members of the different faiths. The muslims have each Friday off to go to the mosque to offer prayers, and the christians have each sunday off to go to church. These are important days and if we met any of the staff on their days off they were always very dressed up and smart. The muslim girls would wear a hijab of African fabric and the christian girls would have had their hair done as attending church was important as a social event as well as a religeous one.
