It seems there is to be a BarCamp to be held in Leeds this summer.  They are ad-hoc events where you go along and participate in workshops, discussions, demos, but in a very informal way.  BarCamp is an ‘unconference’ for geeky people to talk about – well geeky stuff I suppose.  At the moment there is no firm date but I may go along and see what’s what.  If it is too techie I’ll just leave – I’m more interested in what software can do rather than what’s under the bonnet and Leeds is a good place to just hang.  There is traditionally supposed to be room for the participants to camp but I’ll give that a miss.  The whole idea is that you sign up in advance and then everyone tries to get sponsors for food, venue etc.  The wiki for the Leeds BarCamp is here.
